In the American state of Maryland and five casinos have reportedly taken the next step towards being licensed to offer retail sportsbetting after having their applications approved by the newly-created Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC) regulator.

Amelia Tyler, Baldur’s Gate 3’s narrator, talks putting a voice to the Dark Urge’s ‘feral, visceral, animalistic, want to tear the world apart with [its] teeth’-

Baldur’s Gate 3 has voiced narration—a lot of it, as I’ve personally confirmed by playing the dang thing while having the sound turned on. I recently had the pleasure of speaking to the voice behind the game’s reams and reams of narration, Amelia Tyler, earlier this week.

While Tyler’s dulcet tones do stay largely consistent, there are noticeable differences if you play the game’s different origin characters. She’s on record as having done over a dozen different narration styles for the game, each representing a different character’s inner voice.

Not for every single line of narration, as Tyler assures me, but for key moments? Absolutely. “When we started off recording the narration for the early access version, it was very much a one-note …

Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic are all making AI systems that will run your PC for you, doing online tasks like filling out forms, research, and even a spot of shopping

If you’ve been hoping that AI is just going to a tech bubble that’ll burst very soon, like 3D TVs (remember them?), you’ll have to keep wishing as major players in the industry are charging ahead with new AI agents. Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic are all busy creating so-called computer-using agents (CUAs) that will take over your web browser and carry out various tasks at your behest.

Anyone who has used ChatGPT a lot will know that you get it to give you information on a research topic, summarise a document, fill in a form, and suggest items worth purchasing. However, you need to give the AI system all of the necessary documents and links to do this. The obvious next step in artificial intelligence is just to tell it what you want and it will scurry off and do everything for yo…

Extreme overclockers might need new mounting frames for AMD 9000X3D chips, as Thermal Grizzly says two ‘are likely incompatible without modifications’

AMD’s 9000X3D chips are just around the corner and many a PC gamer is likely prepping the upgrade fund for a draining. Overclockers, too, might have their eyes set on the near horizon, waiting for the next generation of 3D V-Cache chips to put through their paces. At least some of those foaming at the bit, however, might need some new gear first.

Unfortunately for some, Thermal Grizzly says its Ryzen 7000 Direct Die Frame and its V2 version “are likely incompatible” with Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs, at least “without modifications”. Videocardz points out that this is likely because of the added silicon around the capacitors for the 9000-series compared to the 7000-series, and Thermal Grizzly “strongly advise[s] against altering the adhesive surfaces”.

However, Thermal Grizzly says …
